Troubles for Tuesday...

We had a near tragedy at our house last night!!!

One of Alanna's earrings came out!
AHHHH!
The good news is...we found it and after about six screaming, wiggling, hold her down tries...
WE GOT IT BACK IN!
WHEW!!!

I felt so bad for her though.
It took both Cie-J and I to fix it.
Poor baby.

And it was ALL MY FAULT TOO!
I accidentally got it caught in her shirt while taking it off for a bath.
I KNOW!!!
That's terrible right?!?
I felt SOOOOOOOO bad.

Thankfully this story has a good ending.
Alanna still has two cute earrings and all is well.

Something about "new"...

There is just something about "new" that we all like.
You know, new appliances, new cars, a new house.
New is good.  I love new.
Don't get me wrong though.  I love a good bargain as much as the next mom.
In fact, I own several things that are gently used.
I would say that 75% of Alanna's wardrobe is from a resale shop.
Most of the things we buy (besides food of course) in our house is typically gently used.
I love craigslist!

But new....

I love the end of December because I know a new year is coming.

A new year to start over.  To forget all the things that did or didn't happen in 2010 and move forward to the new things that will happen in 2011.

2010 is now the past.  Leave it there.
We can't change it anyway.

The pastor at our church just said recently that he thinks 2011 will be our best year yet.
I think I agree with him.

I am ready for a good year!  How about you?!?

P.S. I have been working on our 2011 goals and have decided that making goals for an entire year is WAY too much for me.  The only way for me to accomplish something is one small bit at a time.  So....I have decided to break it up by the seasons instead.  Look for "Spring Goals" coming up next week.

P.S. #2  Just because I can't help myself, and because my child is adorably adorable.  I will leave you with a picture.
Texting her friends...

What I love Wednesday...

I love that my little girl loves to be a girly girl.
She even wants to wear her shoes in the bathtub.
(I just love the diaper and shoes combo)

I love that she "helps" me put my make-up on.

But the thing that I love the very most...

Is that her daddy lets her put make-up on him too!
Such a good daddy!!

We finally did it!

We finally decided to get Alanna's ears pierced.
We chose these cute little crystal daisies.

Daddy was so afraid for her.
I just didn't want to see her sad or hurt.
Nana and Papa were there too.

But she surprised us all!
She didn't even flinch!  No tears, no hint of pain.

She was SO PROUD of herself.
She looked in the mirror and pointed at her new earrings and said "cute!"
Such a brave big girl!!

P.S. Please excuse my lack of make-up and hair fixing.
We kinda decided to go and do this on a last minute whim.

Dallas Trip...

Alanna and I loaded up the car and made the 4 1/2 drive to Dallas to visit Gunkle and Dess.
(Uncle Clint and Aunt Jessica)

We had an absolute blast.
Alanna really loved cooking with Dess.
She also loved watching TV with Gunkle.
She even let him rock her to sleep!!
Gunkle and Dess took her to the Dallas Zoo.
She loved seeing the penguins, otters, and giraffes.
I think her favorite part was watching the other kids though.

We also saw the biggest, fattest toad and a seriously huge snake.  This picture doesn't even compare.

We had such a fun time.
Thanks Gunkle and Dess for a great weekend!

Monkey Monday...

Alanna LOVED Christmas.
Here she is looking at all her presents.
She got a wagon.  Two to be exact.
She loves loves loves playing with the wagon.
Papa couldn't wait to take her for a ride.
It was a very fun day.
She loved playing with her new babies.
It was hysterical when she opened up a piece of clothing.  She just threw it behind her and wanted to look for more toys.  Here she is looking at her new jammies and new shoes.
But of course...even with all her new toys, she still chose to play with a rubber muffin pan!  HAHA!
