Pigtails...

Like Father, Like Daughter:

So yesterday, I come home to this...

 #1 - Notice she has her own controller.

#2 - Notice how she won't take her eyes off the TV to look at me.

#3 - Notice all the toys all over the floor.
(I was feeling bad for posting these pictures with my floor such a mess, but if I say it before you notice it then it doesn't matter right?!?)

Do you think I should be worried?!?

P.S. I actually love this.  I love that Alanna wants to spend time with her daddy and I love that he lets her pretend to play.  She really pushes the buttons and thinks she's doing something.  It's super cute.

 

Like Dog Like Daughter:

Our dog, like most dogs, lazily lays on the floor for most of the day.  Every once in a while, she gets up and stretches so she can go and find another great spot for a nap.  Sometimes she lays on her back and stretches her legs out looking for a free belly rub.

The other day she did, and Alanna jumped up and ran over to her.  I though she might give her a belly rub, but what she did made me crack up! (and grab the camera of course)  She got on her back and put her hands in the air too!!

She is such a funny girl.  

She keeps us laughing all the time!

Credit Card At 19 Months:

Alanna and I go and get the mail every day after lunch.  This is a fun mini field trip for her because she can hear the birds, see the neighbors dog through the fence, find pecans in the yard, and usually get a letter in the mail.  (She gets all the junk mail - HA!)

A couple of days ago, I got a credit card offer in the mail, but it wasn't just any credit card, it was a DISNEY credit card.  Alanna immediately noticed through the plastic window on the envelope that GOT GAH was on it!  She really got some special mail just for her!  I couldn't get it out fast enough!! 

This is just a cardboard piece of...well, trash, but this girl has slept with it, taken it to her class and keeps it in her purse. (oh boy, that's another blog all together) 

Thank you CHASE for sending me this piece of junk mail that would have gone straight to the trash.  You made Alanna's day  week  LIFE!!

 

We Got A Bike:

I had been wanting a bike for some time now, and I finally was able to get it!  More importantly though, Alanna thinks SHE got a bike too.  She will say "mommy, my bike.  GO! GO!"

 She calls her helmet her "hat."  The hat was the smallest one we could find and it's still too big. We have a had so much fun riding around the neighborhood.  Alanna yells "HI" to all the neighbors and their dogs.

 And you'll never guess who comes out with us on the bike every night???

YEP - GOT GAH!!!

And speaking of Got Gah, I have a funny story to blog about tomorrow.

Friday Funnies:

 A few days ago we were at Lowe's looking around at the plants outside.  It was around 4pm and the sun was in just the right spot to be in our eyes. (Some how, I think the sun is brighter and hotter in Texas)

A lady came and looked at the same plant we were looking at, and she had her hand up in the air as a shade over her eyes.  Alanna looked at her and quickly imitated what she was doing.  It was really cute.  The lady and I had a quick laugh and walked separate ways.  

As we were going to check out, we ran into this same lady again.  Alanna saw her, smiled, and put her hand up over her eyes as a sun shade.   Maybe it's one of those..."you had to have been there" moments, but it was pretty funny at the time.
