 This expression CRACKS ME UP!  It was the "I don't want to smile for a picture" look.

 And here's the "Ok, I'll smile, but I won't look away from Mickey" pose.  You can tell she is saying "cheeeeeeeeeese!"

Her shirt is sparkly and they tights are too.  She LOVED that part.  She twirled and twirled and twirled in her little skirt.

Bring on Halloween!  We are ready!

Alanna's Busy Work:

So anyway, I saw this idea for preschoolers and thought that it would be a great busy project for Alanna.  You know, since you can spend millions of dollars on toys and games for kids and all they want to do is play with the box anyway.  

These were household items that I already had and could give to her to keep her busy while I started dinner.  Genious!

So I would call out the color "red" and Alanna would pull out all the red pipe cleaners.  And so on and so forth.  Once they were all out, she would have fun putting them all back in.

This is definitely something I will be bringing out weekly.  Cheap, easy, fun, and kept her attention for a good hour.  SCORE!

A Spider, A Kitty, A Mickey, OH MY:

 Alanna LOVED scooping out the pumpkin gunk and throwing the seeds into the garden.  We got the funniest video of it, but I still haven't figured out how to add a video to this stinkin' blog. 

Alanna picked out a spider for daddy's pumpkin and a slightly scary kitty for hers.  I was going to put a cute little welcome message on mine, but it broke right in the middle of carving it...so I just carved out a HUGE Mickey instead.  Alanna was thrilled, so it all worked out in the end.  The mini pumpkin has a sticker face on it.  Alanna made that at "school" and she thought it had to be in the picture too.

How Rude:

 Yesterday, Alanna and I were driving in the car and she told me "Mommy, drive faster, faster, faster!"

(BTW, she is a TOTAL backseat driver!!)

I explained to her that I cannot drive any faster because there is a speed limit and if I went too fast, a police officer would stop me and give me a ticket.  

She thought about it for a second and then gasped and said "Mommy, it's rude!"  I asked her what was rude and she said "No give mommy a ticket, that's rude!"  

HAHAHAHA!  I almost had to pull over because I was laughing so hard.  And for the record, I think it's terribly rude too! =)

Friday Funnies:

Yesterday I told Alanna that she could not have an Elmo juice.  She whined about it and I told her again that she could not have an Elmo juice.  She stormed off to the playroom, found her princess cell phone, and promptly called Nana to tattle on me.  Her conversation went something like this:

A: Nana, Mommy say no Elmo juice to Lanna.
A: Lanna mad.
A: Lanna want Elmo juice.
A: Nana, miss you.  Love you.

Then she turns to me and says "Mommy, Nana say YES Elmo juice!"   

THEN.....

Later we were in the car and I turned down the A/C and Alanna yells out "HEYYYYYY....no turn that off mommy.  I hot."
