Friday Funnies:

We had a random and unexpected, but VERY appreciated, rain shower last night.
(THANK YOU GOD!)
Alanna said "Mom, can I go and play in the rain please?"  I thought of one hundred reasons why she shouldn't.  It was 30 minutes before her bedtime.  It was thundering and lightening.  She might get muddy.  She would for sure need a bath.  And on and on and on.
But then I realized that this might be our last time to see rain for a long while.  And the last couple of weeks have been super stressful and this was something fun.  And it's HOT outside, so the rain felt really good.  And sometimes you just have to throw our your worries and just go for it.
"Sure, honey.  Go for it!"  She looked at me like I was crazy and said "Really?  Are you serious?  I thought you would say no!"  We had fun in the rain and she said it was her favorite part of the whole day.

Success.

Band of Three:
Alanna and I were at our sweet friends' house and the kids wanted to create a band and play us a song.  It was great!  Wyatt was on the fiddle, Alanna was on the guitar, and little Shyne was behind Wyatt on the ukulele.  We got about a ten minute concert from them!  I will post the video below as I'm sure you are jealous and want to hear it for yourself!  Be prepared for awesomeness!

Our Snack Garden:

It's is HOT here in Texas, so our garden doesn't produce a ton of veggies this time of year.  Alanna goes out and checks every morning to see what is ready to be picked but the funny part is, they never make it in!  She instantly eats whatever she picks!  She loves the cherry tomatoes and these sugar snap peas, believe it or not, she eats raw!  She rips them open and eats the peas from inside them.  It's hysterical!  We call it our "snack garden".

Friday Funnies:

I had to take something to the VA for Cie-J and of course Alanna had to go with me.  If you've never been to a VA before let me just tell you that the FIRST thing you see when you walk in the door is a huge line of 16X20 framed prints of the chain of command leaders...the first one being President Obama.  Alanna saw this and stopped dead in her tracks and said "WHAT?!?!?!  What's Obama doing here?!??"  I told her that all of those pictures were the leaders that were in charge right now.  She look next to him and saw Vice President Biden and she said "And who is that?  He looks pretty sneaky!!!"  Oh man, I had to laugh out loud, as did several other people who heard her!  What can I say?  His big smile DOES look sneaky! (personal opinion of course)
