FRIDAY FUNNIES:

Alanna STILL insists on driving the car.  A least once a week, she will ask if she can drive that day.  When I tell her no, she acts so surprised and upset each time.  THAT GIRL!  She says, "But I know that red means stop and green means go, mom.  And I know how to stay in the lines" (she has to do that when we ride bikes.)  Then she'll say "Can I drive when I'm four mom?!?"  Little stinker.  Let's just tackle learning to read first.  Gotta do that to drive. ;)

Trip Wrap Up:

So I found another picture and video I wanted to document about our little trip...
There were swings all over the property where we stayed, and this tire swing was right behind our cottage.  Alanna called it the "yo-yo swing".  There was also a petting zoo across from the cottage that had fat goats and sheep and a horse for kids to pet and feed.  This was really a super family friendly place.  We'd go back for sure.

I also shot this silly video of my brother while we were eating a picnic lunch in the state park.  It cracks me up so hard.  Excuse the shaky video and the sniffles and snorts of the videographer.  ;)

Like Mother, Like Daughter:

This cracks me up A LOT.  This is me around age six.  I remember all those friends.  The dragon on the end used to puff REAL powder out of his nose when I squeezed him.  SO COOL!  And Teddy Ruxpen?!?  Remember him?  And THREE cabbage patch dolls... because that's how I roll. ;)

Alanna has to take roll call before she goes to bed.  All her friends have to be with her.  If she has left one in the playroom or the car, we MUST find them.  Little Stinker. (Yes, I know I am totally a push over.)

Friday Funnies:

We were riding in the car and Alanna says "MOM!  I need to say a prayer right now!"  I asked her why and she said "I need to thank God for my big muscles.  I am really strong and I have really big muscles!"  HAHA, it cracked me up.  And sure enough, she stopped and said a prayer of thanks for her muscles.

Have a nice weekend!

Fossil Rim Drive Thru Safari:

We had the sunroof open and were able to feed the giraffe's!  SO FUN!!
We also got to feed the antelopes and deer.  Our sweet niece Lydia was loving it!  This picture just cracks me up!

We also got to go in to the petting zoo area and Alanna had to huge all of the goats.  That girl.  She loves to hug animals.  She would have kissed them too if I would have let her.  No joke though, every time Cie-J touched a goat, EVERY TIME, it would poop.  We couldn't stop laughing.  We called him the 'Goat Laxative."  HAHAHA!

Then one of the workers gave her a brush and this girl could have stayed there all day doing that job.  She LOVED it.
Alanna loved throwing the food out, but I think she loved playing with her cousin the most. =)
 Sweet girl.

Dinosaur World:

We went on a small vacation last weekend with my brother and sister-in-law and our little girls.  Alanna had been anticipating seeing the life size replica dinosaurs for WEEKS!
This guy was waiting for us around the first corner and MAN did he scare me!  He's the scariest one we saw hands down!!
Alanna was our little tour guide and had to walk in front of everyone and 'discover' which dinosaur would be next on the tour.  The walk was a little over a mile long and they had over 100 dinosaurs.  Each time she saw a new one through the trees she's yell "AH HA!!"  It was pretty cute.

 Tiny girl, BIG T Rex.
This one was her favorite!  It just cracks me up how little she looks.
After seeing the dinos, Alanna got to dig for fossils!
She found a ton of stuff and got to pick out three to keep.  She chose two sharks teeth and a sea scallop fossil.  It was so much fun.

Also, the lady at the front desk asked how old Alanna was since kids two and under got free admission to the park.  She proudly announced that she was three.  The lady, being nice, said "well, today you can be two" and motioned her on in.  It was nice....but Alanna was NOT happy.  She loudly protested "But I'm three!!"  The lady smiled and said "But you can be two just for today."  She looked at her in amazement and then yelled "BUT I'M NOT TWO, I'M THREE!!!"

We tried to explain to Alanna that the lady was being nice and letting her come in for free.  We did the dino walk and the fossil dig and on the way back to the car, we walked through the gift shop and saw the front desk lady again.  Alanna looked at her and frowned and said "Today I am really three, okay?!?"  It cracked us all up. =)  She just couldn't let it go.

Thursday Funnies:

We are going out of town for a small vacation for a couple of days, so this will be my last post for the week.

Today, we saw a man that had ace bandages on his arms.  They went from his wrists to his elbows.  Alanna saw them and pointed and said "Mom, I found a leper!"  OH MY WORD!  Thankfully we were in the car and no one heard her!  To her credit though, she has a little picture Bible and it has a picture of the ten lepers that went to see Jesus.  Their arms and legs are covered in bandages, so the man DID look like the lepers in her Bible.

Have a nice weekend!

Three Random Things:

#1.  I told Alanna I wanted to take a picture of her crazy hair after her bath.  I love how curly it gets.  She said "Can I make a crazy face too?"  I guess this is her idea of a crazy face. =)

#2.  One morning a few days ago, Alanna told me that she was going to be the big mommy that day and that I was going to be the little girl.  Then she said "Now hand over that boobie sack!"  Oh. My. Word.  I laughed so hard.

#3.  The other day we saw a picture of a lobster and Alanna asked what it was.  When I said it was a lobster, she said "Oh, well, it looks like a hotdog with arms!"  HAHA!  No idea.  Anyway, then we were grocery shopping and went to the fish deli and they had some lobster tails next to the fish.  Alanna loudly yelled "OH NO!!!  WHERE ARE THEIR PINCHERS?!?!?!" She had tears in her eyes for those lobsters.
Sweet girl.

My Nastics:(AKA Gymnastics)

She's been to only two lessons, but has gotten to do some really fun things!  She loves it and can't wait to go each Saturday.  She has a little friend named Addyson in her class that she has fun with too.  It's just the cutest thing seeing these little ones running around and flipping and walking on the balance beam.

On a side note: They've been playing a lot of news clips from 9/11 on TV recently and Alanna saw one of them.  She said "That mean plane flew right into that building!  But it's okay mom, because it's just pretend, right?!?"  I had to very carefully explain that it wasn't pretend and that it happened before she was born.  I don't want to scare her, but it's a part of history and wanted to explain it as much as you can explain something like that to a three year old.  She was so sad.  I'm STILL sad.  I'll never forgot.

She is taking charge of that bridge!

I just love her little squint. =)

So there you have it.  She looks so big!  I can't even imagine what four will look like.  Eeeeek!

Friday Funnies:

The sickies have hit our house.....so this is a little late.

The one Friday Funny I had planned for today was that we were in the car and I was listening to AFR Talk Radio.  They were discussing the DNC and how they have taken God out of their platform.  The announcer said "It's sad that they've just thrown God under the bus.  Just kicked Him off the Democrat train completely."  Alanna gasped loudly and said "MOM!!!!!  Someone kicked God off the train?  He's under a bus???  WHY?!?!?  Why would anyone do that to God?  OH NO!!!!!  Let's pray for Him RIGHT NOW!!!!"  I laughed for a really long time before I could answer her.  She was VERY concerned for God.

Question:  Who do you pray to when you are praying FOR God??????  =)

It's For The Birds:

I bought a cheap loaf of bread and told Alanna we were going to take it to feed the ducks.  I was thrilled to take her because I remember going to do this as a kid.  It was always so much fun.  Good memories.
Daddy would squish the bread in his hand so Alanna could throw it a little farther.  She had so much fun!  Later some geese came and were honking SO loud, but she was never scared.  She even almost hand fed one, had I not stopped her.  You know, the scared mom that spoils all the fun. ;)  This is something we will be doing again soon.

Notice, she is wearing her gymnastics leotard.  This was after her first class and she refused to take it off.  That's a post for tomorrow. =)

Third Birthday Pics Sneak Peak:

I can't believe how old and grown she looks!  When did my baby get so big and beautiful?!?!?!  There is not one inch of baby left in her.  None.  QUICK!  Someone please tell me how to make time freeze!!  Just for a day or month or so.

But I wouldn't change this stage for anything.  She's so independent, and knows it all, and says big words, and makes me proud daily.

More to come....

Everything In A Line:

So Alanna has this thing with lines.
EVERYTHING has to be in a line.  So, maybe she has a thing with organization?!?
She lined up all the game pieces for the tic tac toe board at Dr. Storey's office.
She has to make sure all her magnets are lined up on the fridge.
And...she lines up her underwear in the morning to decide which pair to wear that day!  HAHA!
Look close at her little lips.  She is deep in thought!

I'm not sure where this comes from.  I've always been a little OCD, but never had an organization fetish.  Maybe this will be a good thing in the future!
