A Short Hiatus:

As of today, I will be taking a short break from blogging.  Alanna and I will be traveling to Arkansas for a visit and a much needed break.  We haven't been there since last Christmas!!  We love our life in San Angelo and are having a wonderful time...but sometimes you just need to go home for while.  That is precisely what we are doing. =)

See you soon!

Garden Helper:
She was very concerned with everything her daddy did and had to be right in his face "helping" him.  She also picked ALL of the tomatoes whether they were ready or not.  Silly girl!  She bit into a greenish orange one and spit it right back out.  Such a little mess!

Her daddy convinced her to put a piece of basil leaf in her mouth (because he did and she wanted to be like daddy) and she said "yummy" while making a terrible face and spit it back out.  HAHA! At least she tried it!

We picked our second cantaloupe of the season (the others have all disappeared!) and will have it for breakfast in the morning.  I hope it's good!

Monkey Monday:

This is the first picture I ever posted on this blog.  I just found it again yesterday and I gasped!  Look how much she has changed!!!  That's also why we call her monkey. =)

Happy Dance:

I THINK I CAN OFFICIALLY SAY THAT ALANNA IS POTTY TRAINED!!!
I've been waiting to say it "officially" because I wanted to make sure she continued, but I think we've finally done it!

YAY!!!!!!!!!
That's all.

Play Date with Cole (AKA B.F.F.):

We met Cole and his mom at the mall for a play date.  The kids were so happy to see each other!  Cole moved up to the big class at Mom's Day Out, so they are no longer in the same class or even use the same play ground. =(

They were laying on the floor because some little girl had lost a balloon and they had to watch it for a good 10 minutes.  I guess to make sure it didn't move.  Kids are funny.  Anyway, we had a great time and will probably make it a weekly thing.

Good Dog:

Asha was a good girl and went potty, so she got some stickers.  As you can tell, she is THRILLED!

Monkey Monday Funnies?!?

Eh, it's my blog...so I can do what I want, right?!?

This morning as we were getting ready to leave, Alanna runs to the door and excitedly yells "Let's go team!!"  It was so funny!

Alanna calls blueberries "boobies."  Imagine being in the grocery store and your child yelling "More boobies please!"  Oh the looks we get...

One of our favorite songs lately has been the ABC's.  When Alanna gets to L-M-N-O-P, she says
"elmo n me"  So sweet.  I don't even want to try to correct it right now.

Mickey Bam-ins:

We saw these at Target and of course HAD to get them.  Alanna calls them 'bam-ins" and works very hard to find a wowie on her leg so that she can have one.  The other day, Cie-J hit his funny bone and Alanna brought him a mickey bam-in.  She put it on him and kissed it, and then took it right back off and put it on her own arm!  HA!

She's been saying a ton of funny things lately.  I'm gonna make a list and put them on here soon...

BIKE!!

Alanna started asking for a bike 3 or 4 months before her birthday.  Every time we saw a bike or went to the store, she made a big to-do over them and made sure that we knew that "Lanna WANTA bike!"
Nana and Papa got her a bike for her birthday, and while she was napping on the day of her party, we all sat down and put it together.  Yes, I said ALL of us because it takes 4 grown adults to put together a child's bike!   Anywho, this picture above is of her seeing it for the first time.  She woke up and came toddling in the living room with her bed head and kitty cat.  She was SOOO surprised!!
She had to sit down on Nana's lap and patiently wait for us to get it done.  She kept saying "bike" over and over.  She couldn't wait to get on it.
It took a few days for her to learn how to pedal it forward, but now there is no stopping her.  She is an official bike rider!

Birthday Balloons:

I just found these pictures on my camera and wanted to blog about them.

Somewhere, I can't remember where right now, I saw the idea to put balloons in your child's room before they wake up on their birthday.  Alanna had been asking about her "happy day" for a long time, so this was a perfect way to let her know that TODAY was her "happy day!!"

She was so shocked and super excited when she woke up!  I kinda wanted to cover her whole floor with balloons but she ended up waking up before I could get any more blown up!
This was such a fun way to start the day.  I think it's going to become a tradition every year.

Mom's Day Out:

Alanna goes to Mom's Day Out on Tuesdays and Thursday's from 9am-1:30pm.  She loves it and her very best friend in the world is Cole.  They have a love hate relationship actually.  He has bitten her and she had pushed him, but they continue to love playing together. (or get in trouble together)

MDO has been a HUGE blessing to me too, because I can make doctor appointments, grocery shop, or clean the toilets on these days without "help" from Alanna.  Plus, it's good for her to be around other kids.
These are her FABULOUS teachers that we love so much.  Ms. Jane on the left, and Ms. Thiry on the right.  They are so good to her and take such good care of her during the day.  I never worry.

We saw Ms. Jane at IHOP a week or so ago and Alanna was SHOCKED!  She didn't know what to say.  She was literally speechless.  I guess she thinks that Ms. Jane lives in her school room. =)  She didn't say one word to her, but then the next day at school, she said "Ms. Jane, I see you!"

Birthday: Part Two

Alanna had a Minnie Mouse figurine (THANKS Mamaw!) and a #2 candle on her cupcake.  We forgot a lighter so she didn't get to blow it out.  BUMMER!  She was super overwhelmed when the kids sang "Happy Birthday" to her.  She sat there wide eyed and had no clue what to do.  I was cracking up!  I was really proud of how the cupcakes came out too.  I didn't try one, but they looked delish and everyone commented how great they tasted.  SUCCESS!

We had SO many sweet friends come from all of our clubs we are involved in.  15 kids and 17 adults!
I think Alanna's favorite guests of all though, were Nana and Papa!  We had a great time with them!
It was the perfect Minnie Mouse party for a pretty cute little monkey.

Birthday Pictures FINALLY:

I hate it when I take the time to write out a whole blog and then it doesn't post!!
GRRR!!!  Anyway...
I finally got Alanna's birthday pictures from the photographer! They are great!  I will probably take two days to post all about it.

The table decorations came out really cute and just how I wanted them too, and the cotton candy was the treat we sent home with the kiddos at the end of the party.  SO FUN!

Alanna just played and played and played.  She loved being at the park with all her friends.  She just seemed to bounce from one thing to another and couldn't stay at one place for very long.  She was so overwhelmed.

I spent  A LOT of time making these cute Minnie Mouse ears for the party and wouldn't you know, Alanna would have NOTHING to do with them!  Figures.  At least her sweet little friends looked adorable in them!

MORE TO COME...
