More Plant Please! (With Sauce);

Alanna loves to eat salad.  Mamaw was here and was a witness to her eating it.  She always asks for 'sauce' though.  Sauce can be anything from ketchup to ranch to gravy to BBQ sauce.  We never know which 'sauce' she is talking about. =)
I caught her taking her last few bites, but that white smear on her plate is where the salad used to be.
As long as I get to be in charge of what goes inside my child's body, I will make sure she gets good food like this.  I hope and pray she still has her good food habits once she is old enough to choose for herself.

Just the other day, she said "Mom, I can't like donuts because they make my tummy hurt, right?!?  Can we go get donuts and just TRY them to see if my tummy hurts?"  HAHA!  I told her we could get a donut on her birthday.  She has already started the count down.

Go Fly A Kite:

Mamaw bought Alanna a kite and while she was here visiting, we got a chance to go and fly it.

It was a fairly windy day, but we had the hardest time getting it to stay up.  Daddy tried REALLY hard to get it up so Alanna could hold it, but nothing he tried worked.  The wind wasn't stable and came and went the whole time.
SO FRUSTRATING!!!
Alanna was just content to sit and watch and then chase Daddy as he was running. =)

Then the unthinkable happened.  The string broke away from the kite!  Alanna was so sad!
But Mamaw and Daddy came to the rescue and had it up and running again in no time.
After an hour long attempt to get the kite to fly, we were hot and frustrated and decided to just let her have the kite and play with it before we left.
 So she took off running...
And showed three adults how to fly a kite.

Holding Hands With Mamaw:

Mamaw just came and stayed with us for Memorial weekend.  We had a lot of fun.  Alanna was thrilled to have her here and was not happy when we had to tell her bye at the airport.  At one point when we were driving in the car (I was not driving), I looked back and Alanna and Mamaw were holding hands. =)

Thanks Mamaw for a super great weekend!!

Bread-cicle:

Alanna came up to me a few days ago and asked for a "bread-cicle."  I went to the freezer, chuckling, and got her a popcicle.  She looked at me like I was nuts and said, "no mom, NOT a popsicle, a bread-cicle!"

I had no idea what she meant, so I had her say it again.  She grabbed my finger and said she would show me.  She took me to the pantry and pointed to these skinny bread sticks that we have that are kinda like pretzels.
(no, she doesn't have lipstick on, not sure what was going on with my camera that day.)
OH HOW FUNNY!  BREAD-CICLE!
I get it now.
(again....no, she doesn't have a black eye.  Dumb camera!)

This girl cracks me up how she just comes up with words.  She STILL tells me she needs to "blow her sneeze."  Too cute.

Pink And Blue With Sparkles:

She brought three bottles of polish to me and said, "I want this side to be blue and this side to be pink and I want sparkles on all of them!"

She's a girl with a plan and that's exactly what she got!! =)

She also asked if the dog could get her nails painted.  I'm considering it...

Bows and Beards:

I was going through some of Alanna's bows and headbands to see what I could get rid of.  She no longer needs the stretchy headbands for the bows, but when I told her I was getting rid of them she was not happy!  I told her that she didn't need them anymore because she has hair for the bows now.  She immediately told me that she could use them as necklaces.  Duh mom!!

Then she insisted that daddy would want the small bows for HIS hair. =)  She quickly discovered that the small bows wouldn't stay on his short hair on top of his head, so she had a GREAT idea!
Yes, I guess we SHOULD keep the small bows for daddy.  He looks so thrilled!

Monkey Monday:

She said she was wearing her glasses like papa.
(and doesn't she look SOOOO big?!?)

Friday Funnies:

1. Our landlord came to fix our kitchen sink.  Right when he was under there and unaware, Alanna came up behind him and poked him in the rear with her nerf sword!!!  I have NO IDEA what would provoke her to do this.  She knows how to play nicely.  I think it was more out of curiosity to see what would happen.  He jumped and hit his head, she cracked up laughing, and I was terribly mortified.

2. Alanna's bed time is 8:30pm.  She called me in her room about 9:06pm and said "Mommy, I just 'membered something.  You said I could have a popsicle today and I didn't have one.  Can I have one tomorrow for breakfast?"  I told her if she remembered in the morning, then we could discuss it.

3.  Alanna told me that boys have a "pointer".  I don't even want to discuss this or validate what she said so I just said "oh, okay" and ended it there. Not. Even. Three. Yet.  !!!!!!!!!

Have a good weekend!

A Little Mouse In My House:

I cut up some apples for myself while Alanna was napping and left them on the table while I did some dishes.
When I came back, all the apple part had been eaten off and the skins were the only part left.

It has to have been a mouse...a little red headed mouse for sure!

Mother's Day Mani/Pedi:

Alanna and I went together to get a pedicure for Mother's Day.  She sat on my lap and did great!  She visited with the lady next to us and the guy that was working on me.  She kept saying 'that's sooo pretty!"

When I was done, the guy asked if she would like to wear the same color as mommy?  He didn't have to ask twice.  She was THRILLED.  I agreed.

She kept asking if she could paint her finger nails too.  I said no, because she still puts them in her mouth some.  She said that she NEEDED a sparkly pink color on her nails.  The guy went and found the perfect shade.  Thanks guy.  She begged but I said no.  Then he said, "I just do it for free, okay?"

What's a mom to say to that?

Her favorite part was putting them under the light to dry.  It was too cute!  How in the world did I go in to get pampered and my daughter comes out with a full mani/pedi?!?  HAHA!

Thanks to Papa and Nana for the card and the cash that paid for this!

Broccoli Eater:

This was our lunch after church on Sunday.
Chicken, broccoli, blueberries, and watermelon.

I put the plate down in front of Alanna and she immediately went for the broccoli first and finished it all before she ate anything else!  I was so proud.  She even asked for seconds!!

She didn't know I was taking this picture because I didn't want to disturb her good eating. =)

Randomness:

We have had some severe storms this week and a couple of days ago we had some hail.  It was scary because I was driving home and had to pull under a bridge for awhile.  Yesterday we had so much flooding that they started closing several streets in town.  So weird for the southern part of Texas this time of year.

One of Alanna's favorite expressions these days is her 'stink eye.'  If you ask her, she will do in on command.  I finally caught a good picture of it.

Funnies:

Alanna told her teacher this week that when she gets older and bigger, she will get to wear a bra.  Great.

She also told the same teacher that her momma wears a diaper.  Oh the stories she comes up with.

Have a nice weekend!

Mommy and Lanna's Day Out:

We got a card in the mail from Nana and Papa with some money in it for Mother's Day.  The card said to go and treat myself to a pedicure.  I decided to take Alanna with me and of course she wanted her toes done too.  She was SO funny sitting in the chair and asking her one million questions and talking to all the people around us.  I'm so mad that I didn't think to snap a picture until we were done.
It cracked me up to see her little tiny feet and hands under the UV light table.  She sat so still and quiet for the whole thing.  I was so proud of her.

Thanks Nana and Papa!

Crooked Smile:

Alanna looks so much like daddy, that it makes me really happy when I see something like looks like me.
 Sorry, it's tiny...but that's my crooked smile.
And this is hers.
This is her current favorite way to smile.
It just cracks me up.

Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly:

Sorry there wasn't a post yesterday.  I had a headache the size of TEXAS and I had to go to bed.  My sweet husband let me go at 8pm and he cleaned up the kitchen and got Alanna to bed.  Where did I get him from???

Anywho, I got to do a little art project with Alanna and it was so much fun!  I saw the idea on Pinterest and fell in love with it.

Alanna did SO GREAT with this and was really careful with the paint!
She may be a bit OCD like her mom. ;)
She actually HATES to have her hands dirty.  As soon as she was done we had to wipe them off ASAP.  Funny girl.  I just love how it turned out!
It comes from one of my favorite Scriptures.
 Micah 6:8

It's hanging in her bathroom.
