Cole's Birthday Party:

One of Alanna's best friends here in Texas is Cole.  They met when they went to Mom's Day Out together at only 15 months old.  I think they are closer to 21 months in this picture below.
Here they are in June 2012...their teacher sent this to me because they were holding hands at school. =)
His expression just cracks me up!
And here they are June 2013 and just the same!  This picture makes me chuckle because it screams both of their personalities!  Cole is full of life and silly and Miss Alanna is just cheesy and silly and cute.  He had opened one of his birthday gifts and it had two transformers in it.  He immediately handed Alanna one and said "Here, you play with one and I'll play with the other!"  She had no clue what it was or what it did, but they stood there and played and played having so much fun!! (Later in the car, she said she really needed some of those for HER birthday.  Oh brother!)
She stood right next to him and "helped" him open his presents.  She was genuinely excited for him with each new gift.  I just love both their faces in this one.  I think they were happy about the money that fell out of the card. =)
I have no words for this one.  HAHAHAHA!!
Actually, I do!  Her mouth was purple for TWO DAYS!!
Cole's party was at a pizza and party place much like Chuck E. Cheese, called Mr. Gatti's.  Alanna had so much fun playing all the games and riding all the rides.  They have several inflatables set up inside too.  It was really a fun party place.  Alanna got 165 tickets (off of 5 bucks!) and took home a whoopie cushion and a flip flop key chain.  Daddy was proud.

Monkey Monday:

I "almost" saved this for a Friday Funnies post because it totally cracks me up!  We are at Penny's house and Alanna let the dog have the recliner and she is sitting in a baby car seat!  HAHA!  AND....she decided that they were both cold (when it's 101* outside), so she shared the blanket with the dog.  Too funny!!

Friday Funnies:

1. As we were leaving the house, I told Alanna we needed to hustle (I've realized that I say this a lot) and get in the car so we wouldn't be late.  She very seriously looked at me, opened the driver side door, and said "give me the keys, I can get us there faster!"

2. Alanna Mouse...daddy made this at work and sent it to Alanna.  She said "Dad, that was a sneaky trick!"
Have a good weekend!

Sleepy Head:

Why is it that kids are so much cuter when they are sleeping?

Right after my flash went off, she stirred and I dropped to the floor like a drill seargent had ordered me to do pushups and I slithered out like a snake.  YIKES!  I heard her say "what WAS that?!?!" but then she went back to sleep.  Oh my word!

Singing Playing in the Rain:

Living in West Texas, we NEVER get to use our umbrellas.  If fact, I had to search for it in a closet! Alanna got this cute one for Christmas two years ago and I bet she's used it twice since then.  When it started raining I immediately asked her if she wanted to go out and use her umbrella.  She was so excited, but she thought I had lost it letting her play in the rain. =)
I bet she walked up and down this sidewalk a dozen times.  Then all of a sudden she asked if she could get wet.  I told her to go for it!
Yes, she is in a sun dress.  Yes, she is in flip flops.  Yes, she is wet.
(It was also about 98 degrees outside!)
I got cool mom points for letting her play in the rain.  She kept saying "mom, are you sure this is okay? I am getting really wet and messy!"  HAHA!!!

5 Random Things:

I made Alanna an "A" pancake.  My great grandma used to do this for me.  =)
Alanna wrote a note and taped it to her door.  She told us it said "only girls can come in!"  Sounds good to me! (except daddy of course)
Alanna was pushing baby Molly on a scooter and it was the cutest thing.  I went to grab my camera and came back to this.  So sad. =( (come to find out, her little foot got caught.  Poor baby.)
Apparently a hoarder has moved into Alanna's doll house.
And lastly, I have our last name hanging above our TV.  Cie-J hates it and teases me about it often.  I came home one to find that he had hidden the B and the W.  Turd. He's lucky he's cute.

Bowling: for the first time

She would squeal and hollar at her ball to go faster and get the pins!
Giving daddy some knuckles for picking up a spare!
She and I tied and daddy beat us by 4 points.

Mamaw was with us but didn't feel well so she didn't bowl. =(  But...here are some other fun shots...
Alanna was amazed with Mamaw's long hair.  She prays every night for her hair to grow. (Alanna, not mamaw) =)
Mamaw read Alanna a book in the car on the way to the airport.  It was fun.  I don't think either of them knew that I took this.

Skating Party:

Alanna has never tried to skate before .................until yesterday.
Awana was having an end of the year party and I was hesitant to go.  I wasn't sure how skating and a three year old would mix.  It ended up being a TON of fun!  Alanna was thrilled to skate and did really well actually.  The man at the skate counter tightened her wheels so they wouldn't fly out from under her.  BIG HELP!  She really more or less walked around the skating rink.  They had a bar all the way around for her to hold on to also.  Most of the time I walked around the rink with her, holding her hand. (in my tennis shoes)
Her favorite part was the disco ball in the middle, but every time she tried to look at it, she'd end up falling. After several times around, she decided that she didn't want to hold my hand anymore.  She'd say "Mom, I can do this.  I don't need you anymore."  I continued to walk around with her without holding her hand.  She felt so big!  Then she said "Mom, just let me go around one time alone okay?"  AHHH!  I didn't want to, but I let her.  She's three.  I was so proud of her for doing it!! (There weren't a ton of people there and the floor was pretty empty by this time.)
About 3/4 of the way around, she got tired and sat down to take a rest. ;)
Then we took off her skates and she got to walk with "Baby Shyne" around the rink.  She LOVED that!
Such a fun time!  We are considering having her birthday party here in August!

Friday Funnies:Proverbs Journal

We have started a new thing with Alanna that I have just fallen in love with.  It's called a Proverbs Journal.  Basically, I write down a Proverb and then she has to illustrate it.  It's fun to see her interpretation since she is three years old.  I can't wait to show these to her when she is older!
Here is her entry from yesterday.  There is a big sun on the left and then the lines on the right are the paths.  On top of the lines are the people choosing which path to take. =)  She started out making the sun a rainbow sun and then got impatient at how long it was taking and just finished it in pink.  She makes me laugh.

Now to the funny part.....
Alanna asked if she could make ME a journal entry.  SURE!
She got busy making all these scribbles and then told me it said "The path that you take, will take you the best way.  The whole world is the best path to take. The light of God will make you sing."  HAHA!

Be sure to check out my post from yesterday.  I got it up kind of late.

Vacation Bible School:

Most of the VBS's in town are for kids in kindergarten up to sixth grade.  When we found one that took preschool aged kids, we jumped at the chance.  I grew up going to VBS (at least two or three different ones) and that's what made the summer so much fun!  I have fond memories of kool-aid and cookies served by the grandmas of the church. =)  I told Alanna about it and she was ready to go!
She calls it "Bible School."
She and her friend Karis were so excited to go and be in class together.  All I could say to the teachers was "Good luck!"  Haha.
It ended up being this tiny little church that I've passed 100 times before and never ever noticed.  They had about 40 kids attend on the first day.  The teachers and volunteers were so friendly and very excited to have our kids there.
When I went back to pick Alanna up, she was talking as fast as she could about everything she did and learned and how much fun she had.  I was so happy she had a great experience.  Then she stopped and very seriously told me that there was one big problem with this church.  The water smelled like poo poo and she couldn't drink it or even make her hands clean.  I had to investigate.  We went to the restroom and sure enough, they have sulfur water.  HAHA!  I didn't want to wash my hands either!!  We chose to use hand sanitizer in the car instead. =)

It's All Fun and Games:

One of Alanna's most favorite things ever is going to the arcade at the "movie-ator."  We had to take Mamaw with us to see this girl in action.
Daddy pushes the peddle for the gas, but Alanna steers and does the rest.  She's really not to bad for three.  She came in 4th place!
Then it was Mamaw's turn to do the gas.  They came in 3rd and then 2nd!!  Alanna seriously loves this game and she was so excited that Mamaw got to play it with her.
Then Daddy let her shoot robots with him!  I had never seen this game before.  Something about that sweet girl in her skirt and bow holding that huge gun just made me crack up laughing. (Don't worry, these games are rated for all audiences - no blood, etc.)
I know these are the times that we will look back on as a family and cherish.  She LOVES spending time with her daddy and this is one of the things they can do together and enjoy.  We were so excited that Mamaw got to go and share this time with us too.

***Due to some weird activity lately, I will be making my blog private.  I didn't want to have to do this, but it's the only safe choice for me and my family.  PLEASE email me (or my mom or Cie-J's mom if you are their friends) for the password.  It will take place in the next couple of days.***
