Face Painting by Alanna:

A couple of Monkey Mondays ago, I posted a picture of Alanna with her face painted.  She LOVED it and cried when we had to clean it off.

Then she had the bright idea to put some "paint" on Momma's face.  She was just pretending and I asked her if she'd REALLY like to paint my face?!?  I handed her some eye shadow and told her to have at it.  She looked at me like I was nuts and said "Are you serious?"  Haha.
I got a rainbow and a unicorn. =)
She thought it was the best thing ever. Then she asked daddy if she could paint his face too...
He got whiskers and a spiderweb.

Children's Museum:

This place just opened up and it was really nice!  This is the water room.  Notice the hand dryers on the wall in the back.  They had these in several different places!  Genius!
Alanna loved this water tornado.  We try to make one in her bath sometimes, but this one was WAY cooler!
This was my favorite area.  Tons of musical instruments everywhere!

Here she is building a nano particle.  She didn't quite understand what they were, but she sure loved making it super tall. =)
This was Alanna's favorite room...the animal clinic.  She took care of several dogs and one cat.  She got to give shots, look at x-rays, and so much more.
We could have stayed in this room for hours.  She still says she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.  She was living her dream.
Then we got to work on a car!  She was pretty pumped to see how it all worked, but then said, "this is boy work mom."  HAHA.  I think she meant hard work.  Or maybe it was that the room was full of boys only.
You know you aren't cut out to be a mechanic when you are caught putting antifreeze in the wiper fluid slot. =)  LOL!

Friday Funnies:

This one is a Cie-J funny.  While showing our friends around a casino, we saw this store and he had to get a "boys picture" with him and Jackson!  HAHAHA!
And yes, he is pointing up.  Stinker.

Jackson Comes To Visit:

My BFF and her son came to visit us and we couldn't have been more excited!  I'm going to post a ton of pictures, so please bare with me here. =)  First of all, we made our first trip to the airport to pick them up.
Alanna was completely disgusted that she couldn't play any of the fun games there.  I was just amazed that they have machines in the airport.  I guess it shouldn't surprise me anymore, because they are everywhere here!
It was a long day of travel for them, but Jackson adjusted like a champ.  It's almost like we live in a different world here.  The time zone change is hard to get used to.
We went to a pumpkin patch in the local apple orchard and Jackson insisted to carry our goodies to the cash register.  It was so cute how he threw that sack over his shoulder. =)
It was fun having two little red heads together.
They had a blast on the rides at Circus Circus.

We took them to see some big fish and sting ray and sharks.  I think overall they liked the escalator the best though.  Haha.

Overall, it was a fun, fun time and it was super special for all of us.

Horse Rescue:

We went with a group of friends to a cute little horse rescue that had all kinds of animals running around on their property.  We took carrots to feed to the horses.
Alanna was NOT so sure about those big chompers and those huge wiggling lips! She wouldn't hold the carrot up high enough for them to actually get it.
This poor horse tried and tried to get this carrot from her...
Look at this poor thing breaking his neck just trying to get a carrot.  I felt bad for him and finally gave it to him myself. =)  Also...Alanna insisted to wear a fancy tutu outfit with a big bow and church shoes to this farm.  I wasn't up for the fighting, so I let her do it.  She looked SO out of place.  In fact, a complete stranger came up and wished her a happy birthday! HA!  When I told them it wasn't her birthday, they were shocked and said "I just knew it was because of her special outfit."  Little did they know that this is every day in our house!  Oh the joys of living with a diva!!  HAHA!

The farm his this area for kids to play in with this old school wooden merry go round.  They ALL got the biggest kick out of it.  The sweet girl in the pink hoodie was so concerned about the little kids being on the outside and didn't want the boys to run too fast.  So sweet.  She kept a close eye on Alanna.

Alanna finally told her "You know I'm 4 right?  I'm a big girl and I like to go fast!"  Little stinker.  She has no fear.  This was such a fun day and at night when I was tucking her in, I asked her what her favorite part of the day was.  She said "The best part was when the horse sneezed on you and you got snot all over your shirt and arm!!!!"  True story.

Friday Funnies:

"Mommy, I'm playing Little Mermaid with Asha and I'm Ariel and I'm using the dinglehopper on her hair!!!"

I love that you can look at her cheeks and see the huge smile on her face.  She thought this was the greatest idea ever!

#PoorDog

She was "sick" and needed some friends. She was not thrilled to have a pink poodle laying beside her.

But...she actually DID go to sleep!  Maybe she's not so poor after all!

Zombie!

Okay, don't freak out!  Yes, this is Alanna with a zombie.  She was pretending to be scared.

My friend came to visit us last week with her son and we took them to Circus Circus to see the circus acts and play some games.  We saw this zombie walking around to promote their "fright dome" that they have all October long, and we stopped him to get a picture....with our kids. HA!  He was really nice and his make up was pretty spot on.  Alanna knows that her daddy loves zombies and she was really excited to take a picture with this one for him to see.  The guy kept saying "This is just wrong.  This just feels SO wrong!"  I think it's the funniest thing in the world and she is pretty proud of this picture also.  Daddy was pretty proud of her too.  Funnies part was...she stood next to him with her cute little smile and her hands on her hips.  I had to tell her to pretend to look scared!  HAHA!

Fieldtrip to the Rainforest:

We got to have a tour of the Rainforest Cafe with our home school group.  It was so neat!  We learned all about the rainforest and all the different animals that live there.  Alanna's favorite fact of the day was that snakes have to swallow their meals whole and then throw up the bones!  HAHA!
We ended up making new friends and scheduling a play date!  YAY!  It was a great time for everyone and the staff was super accommodating to our big group.  They even had gluten free options for us!  We will be going back there again soon.

Friday Funnies:

This huge rock quarry is at the end of the road that we live on.  It's hard to tell with this picture, but the mounds are huge.  Alanna is amazed every time we pass them and tells us that they are "culvanos" waiting to erupt.  Sometimes I ask her what they are called over and over just to hear her say the word "culvanos" again.
