Fun At The Park:
This week is gonna be a short blog week.  We have VBS at the church all week and I am busy busy busy scissors. (I'm in charge of crafts!)

This is Alanna and her friend Zephan at the park.  They had so much fun swinging 'big' together.  You can tell in this picture that she is learning to pump her legs.  While she does it she says "Look mom, I'm doing the motions!"  =)

Friday Funnies:
She said "Daddy, I drew a picture of you!"  He asked what the circle below him was and she said "it's your poop!"  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! (I guess that's why he's sad...)

She also told me last night that she couldn't go to bed yet because she "needed to check her email."

Chiropractor In The Making?:

I saw this in the middle of the living room and asked her what she was doing.  She said she was "playing Dr. Storey with Asha."  HAHAHAHA!!!!
P.S. I have a wisdom tooth coming in and it was literally KILLING me last night, so I didn't blog.  Like I almost went to the ER it was hurting so bad.  Yeah.  So....thankfully it's better today.

Mommy's Big Helper:

Sometimes I wear an apron when I cook.  I am really good at splashing, spilling, and sploshing things, so I need it to stay clean.  I totally forgot that I had purchased a little apron for Alanna so she could be my helper some day.  We found it and it has made dinner time so much fun!!!
She had to have her turn stirring everything and then she helped to set the table.  This is her full time job now and she does a GREAT job!    She also likes to fill everyone's glass up with water from the cooler.
The biggest job she wanted to help with was cutting things.  She has begged to use a knife since she could say knife.  True story.  I gave her a butter knife and some grapes and she tried SO HARD but it just didn't work.
So I gave her a banana and VIOLA!
She was so proud of herself and begs me to cut a banana every day. =)

Friday Funnies:

We always go over Alanna's memory verse Scriptures before bed.  The latest one is Psalm 89:11.  We also give her Scriptures if she is in trouble. Like "Always be humble and gentle, and be patient with each other."

The other day I was at a stop light and didn't go when the light turned green.  Alanna yelled from the back seat, "GO MOM, GO!!!"  I told her I couldn't and she said "Yes you can, it's green and green means GO!"  I was in the turn lane and was yielding to traffic, but her little two and half year old self didn't understand that.  She promptly said, "Mom, say it with me.  Always need to be careful! Says me. 89:11"  HA!  She was telling me a Scripture!  It made me laugh for a really long time and I had tears streaming down my face.  That little toot thought she was correcting me.

On a side note, she also asked me if she could drive the car the other day!!!  She said "Dogs can't drive because they don't know that red means stop and green means go, but I DO, so I can drive!!"  Ummm...try another 13 years sister!  If you're lucky!

Cold Dog:
The other day, when it was 102* outside, Alanna told me she was FREEZING and that she needed a blanket.  I went to get her one and she said she needed TWO of them.  I was worried that she might be coming down with something because it was hot hot hot.  Even in the house.  She insisted that she needed them and wanted two of them.  I went to grab the thermometer, and walked into the living room and found this.  Apparently the dog was 'cold' and 'told' Alanna to go and get a blanket. SO funny!

When I told her that Asha has a black fur coat on, it blew her mind.  I'm so glad we have a good dog that takes all this goofiness.  Poor thing was panting hard and drank the whole water bowl when she got up though!  HAHA!

If You Give A Girl A Wet Wipe:

She'll clean her table and chairs...
And she'll clean her flip flops...on the bottom...(HA!)
And then she'll come in the kitchen and clean up!  Wow!  I wonder if she does windows too?

Green Bean Bundles:

Recipe from HERE.
They were a HUGE hit in my house!
I used canned green beans because that's what I had on hand.  I also precooked the bacon a little so it would crisp up in the oven.  YUMM-O!
This has made it's way into our rotation of dinners.
Try it!!

She Did WHAT?!?!
Alanna's teacher took this picture and texted it to my phone today.
When I asked Alanna about it, she told me "Yeah, me and Cole like to hold hands at school ALL THE TIME!"

Lord help us...
P.S. I just LOVE the look on Cole's face.  HAHA!

Cute Little Piggies:

BREAKING NEWS!!!!
Alanna FINALLY has enough hair for teeny tiny piggie tales!  I have to say piggie instead of pig because it sounds smaller and these puppies are small. =)  But we did it!!!  Now she wants to wear her hair up every day.  She begs for a pony tail like her friends but it just doesn't work.  Everyone said by three she would get hair.  I'm hoping by 4!

No matter the amount of hair though, she's still just as cute as a bug in a rug. ;)

Push-ups:

Push-ups WITH daddy.

 Push-ups ON daddy.

She's a great motivator.  More like a drill sergeant!
She'll say, "four more dad, you can do it!"  HAHA!

Friday Funnies:

Nana and Papa got Alanna a bug house for all the fun things that she and daddy discover and catch in the yard.  Today they caught two rollie pollies and a beetle.  They had to eat dinner with us and she BEGGED for them to sleep with her.  Oh. My. Word.

Happy Birthday America:

We celebrated the day by painting our toes a festive color and design.  Then we had some friends over to swim and eat lunch.  Alanna did SO GREAT having 5 other kids over at her house.  Since she's an only child, she doesn't have to share much. =)  This was a good test to see how she's do and she passed thankfully!  I could kick myself for not taking even one picture!  UGH!

The stinky part is, it doesn't get dark here until about 9:30-10pm, so we didn't get to take her to see fireworks this year.  Bedtime is WAY important at this age.  WAY!

Hope your 4th was fantastic too!

Abilene Zoo Day:

A sweet group of friends invited us to the zoo, so we loaded up the stroller and headed for Abilene!

They had this man made pond in the middle of the zoo and it was really pretty.  They had tons of (creepy!) fish that you could feed.  Alanna LOVED it!

Those pink 'rings' in the picture above are their nasty mouths open and fighting over the food!  YUCK!  See?  I told you they were creepy!  The one orange one was really pretty though.
We also got to feed the giraffe!  Alanna was not so sure about that big black tongue coming out.  She'd stick the cracker in the fence and then drop it as soon as she saw that tongue came out.
Then Mrs. Jessica was sweet and helped her do it without the tongue licking her. =)  Fun side note: The giraffe's name was Asha just like our dog.  Alanna was AMAZED by this fact!
Alanna just didn't understand why we couldn't get all the animals out and pet them like we do at the nature center here in town. HAHA!  She said, "Mom, can I PLEASE just go in and pet that lion?"  Bless her heart.  They DO kinda look like big sweet kitties.  She also wanted to pet a zebra and a rhino.  She was fearless and probably would have marched right into those cages had I said yes.  Silly girl.

Overall, it was a fun fun day and we can't wait to go back!
