The Many Faces of Alanna:

This girl has TONS of expressions!
I say it a lot but she cracks me up daily.
A couple of days ago, she was having chicken for lunch.  I cracked some pepper on it for her and she yelled "Ewwww....bugs" and wouldn't eat it until she picked each one off.

Uh Oh, Couch:

When Alanna colors a picture, I always tell her how pretty it is.
This particular day, I was making dinner and she was coloring nicely in a coloring book on the table. (ha ha)
She yelled to me "Mommy, look...pretty couch!"

I think she noticed the terrible look on my face, because she immediately said "Uh oh, couch!"
She went and got a kleenex and tried to wipe it off.

Bless her heart...it was one of those moments I tried so hard not to laugh because I wanted her to know that this was serious and that we do not color on the couch.

YAY DADDY!!!
Any time someone goes potty in our house, they get praises and stickers from Alanna.  Pottying is a BIG deal around here.
Here she is decorating daddy, so he must of done REALLY good.  =)  YAY DADDY!

Friday Funnies:

1.  Alanna likes to point out the obvious.  She does it at the worst of times though.  Behind us in line were several people...she pointed to the first man and said "boy glasses."  I said yes, honey, he is wearing glasses.  Then she pointed to the woman behind him and said "Lady mole!"  UGH!! (She points to daddy's mole on his chin and we laugh.  I can see that we need to stop that NOW!)

2.  While waiting at the chiropractor's office, (yes, we are there a lot!) she starts waiving her hand dramatically and said "Mommy, it's hot in here!"  But it sounded more like "mommy, iss hot in heeya"  It's was so funny but she sounded JUST like me.  I might be a tad dramatic and I think she is totally getting from me.

Have a nice weekend!!

Night Gowns:

Alanna has decided that she only wants to wear night gowns now.  She calls them a "night dress" and begs for one each night.  This is tricky being that we only have two of them.  Lots of washing for mama!

Mamaw just sent us one with matching head band and booties.  She loves it!  I told her to show me her feet and this is the pose she did.  HAHA!

Boots in July:

Alanna always begs to wear boots but the ones we have don't fit her anymore.  I just found these house shoes that look like boots in her drawer.  I forgot we had them.  TAH DAH!  She was SOOO happy.

P.S.  I may or may not blog for a few days due to a dental surgery.  Stay tuned...

Friday Funnies:

1. A little boy in her Mother's Day Out class got sick on Tuesday.  When I went to pick her up, she said "Mommy, Cole spit cookies floor" and then showed me how he did it.  HA!

2. When I gave her a bite of my salad a few days ago, she said "Yummy, more plant please."

3. While at the chiropractor's office, we were waiting to see the doctor, and Alanna yelled "Dr. Storey, COME HERE!!"  Everyone in the office was cracking up.

Have a nice weekend!

Little Hoosier:

Texas is a very VERY proud state and if you are not a Longhorn or Aggie you are not a 'true' Texan.  Cie-J and I couldn't care less about a certain football team so we are fairly neutral.  I guess since I own a pair of Longhorn pajama pants, I am a Longhorn fan.  Although I was born and raised a RAZORBACK fan so I think that's who I'll always identify with.

It's not so much that we are IU fans either, but we have LOTS of people in Indiana that we love.  Alanna got this cute little outfit from her Grammy and Grandpa in Indiana and she loves it.  We get lots of stares and comments when she wears it thoughAnd surprisingly, we've found a few fans a long the way.

It's official, we have a front facer:

We decided to go ahead and turn her seat around last weekend (since I was getting my car detailed and we had to take it out anyway) and she loves it!

Every time we get in the car she says "WOW" and looks around.  She still looks backwards when she says "mommy" and then remembers that I am right in front of her.  =)

I am so glad we waited until she was (almost) 2 to turn her around.

The Bombs Bursting in Air:

So, I'm a little late in posting our 4th of July pics, but here they are none the less.
Sitting on the trunk of the car, in daddy's arms.  She was a big girl until the big booming ones started.  This shot is mid "WOW."  I think she said "WOW" after each firework.  It was so cute.

I love love love this pictures.  My two lovies.
Sweet girl kept trying to catch the fireworks after they would fall to the ground.  After they were over, she yelled out "one more time!"
She has been talking about the fireworks, to this day even, since we saw them.  She LOVED them.  If I was able to get fireworks for her birthday I would.  She also called a fire truck a "firework truck" two days ago.  Silly girl.

All together now...1, 2, 3,...AWWWWWWW!!!

YAY it's Friday:

We love to go to the mall and play.  Especially on these hot Texas days.  Alanna's favorite toy is this train.  Instead of climbing up and then going down the slide, she goes up the slide and then climbs down.  That's Alanna to a "T" though.  She does things her own way!

So, as she was trying to climb down the front of the train, she got stuck.   She was yelling "Mommy, help, stuck!!"  And I of course grabbed my phone and snapped a picture first.  HA!

Two True Stories:

I have two stories that happened yesterday and I just couldn't wait until Friday to share them.

#1 - Alanna and I were at Hobby Lobby today and we saw two Monks (<----is that word supposed to be capitalized?  Help me out mom.) in their traditional brown robe thingies.  Alanna points at them and says, "Mommy, boy dress!"  YIKES!  I didn't know what to say because 'technically' it is a dress sort of.  We turned and walked away quickly.

#2 - We turn out all the lights in our house about 30 minutes before Alanna's bed time.  She came to me in the living room and handed me something and said "here mommy."  I didn't know what it was so I sniffed it to see if it was food.  No smell.  I squished it in my fingers trying to figure out what it was.  I finally said "Alanna, what did you give mommy?"  She said "boog."  I still didn't get it so I asked her where she found it and she said "Lanna's nose!"  GAH!  So thankful at that moment I didn't try to taste it!!!!

I cannot wait to share these stories with her when she is older and can understand them.

She cracks me up EVERY day.

Da Potty - Good News, Bad News, & Funny News:

The good news is - she is still going and still doing a great job!  She has the first three rows all filled up now!  YAY!!!
The Bad News - She HATES to wear pull ups and begs for her diaper EVERY time.  We have tried every incentive in the book and it's a no go.

The Funny News - She was two stickers away from her star (prize) the other day and when I wasn't looking, she went in to the bathroom and peeled off a sticker from the line above and put it on the star.  Then she yelled for me to come and promptly told me that she needed her prize.  Little stinker!!

Mini the Goat:

Our library has a special preschool story time each week.  Last week, our friends took their baby goat named Mini to story time.  Alanna LOVES this goat. (we've been to their house and seen her before)

She had trouble being quiet during the reading time because she wanted to say hi and pet Mini.  Thankfully, everyone thought she was being cute.  Alanna was just amazed that Mini had bows in her 'hair.'  She talked about it for days!
