Friday Funnies:
Alanna sent a picture to Nana and Papa of her eating some chicken off of the bone. (It was her first time ever.)  A couple of days later, they send a picture back of them holding drum sticks and eating it off the bone.  She thought it was so fun!  A couple of days ago, she said, "Take a picture of me using these chopsticks and see if Nana and Papa will send a picture back to me using chopsticks too."  Then she got a puzzled look and said "Wait, do they even have chopsticks in Arkansas?!?!?!"  HAHAHAHA!

Yesterday, Nana sent this picture of a fuzzy caterpillar to Alanna and told her that she would sent it to her to take to the Nature Exchange.  Alanna looked at my phone, looked at me, and then said "Why would Nana put a mustache in a bag and send it to me?"  LOL!!!!!!

Home School Week 3-4:

While studying a unit on weather, we made a windsock so that Alanna could see which way the wind was blowing each day.  We also made a tornado in a bottle and rainbow on the wall.  Alanna also learned about all 4 kinds of clouds and drew each one.  Fun stuff!!  Daddy had fun with this week because he has a weather degree. =)
We practice cutting to work on her fine motor skills.  She was very proud of her rainbow ice cream cone.
Alanna's favorite subject so far is math!  She begs to do it and we usually end up doing 2-3 lessons a day!  Can you believe that?  I would have NEVER guessed!!
The things I have discovered since becoming my child's teacher, is that she is a doodler!  She loves to draw and doodle all the time.  Look at the circles in her math book!  HAHA!

We love school and look forward to it each day.
4 weeks down, 32 to go!

We Made A Rainbow:

We have been homeschooling now for a week and half.  It has been so much fun and I think I am learning right along with Alanna!  A couple of days ago, we studied about weather and what causes it to happen.  We talked about rain and rainbows.
We took a bowl of water, put a mirror in it, and then watched how it projected a rainbow on the wall.  So much fun!!  Alanna was SO proud her herself.

Go Razorbacks!

***We technically don't care about football in our house.  But we found her uniform and it fits now, so we had to try it on.***  Also, Alanna calls them the Warthogs....haha!

Helpers:

I was making a cheesecake for Cie-J and no sooner had my mixer turned off, did I have two readily available 'helpers' to clean the beaters for me. =)

First Day of Kindergarten!

This first picture was at 8:30am when we started school.  She and I were both in our pajamas and our hair was looking a mess.  The good part about homeschooling, is that you don't get graded on attire!
Later, we got ready for the day (this is the picture of the dress from Grammy and Grandpa!) and took another picture. =)

We had an excellent first day!!

Birthday Wrap Up:

Lastly, we let Alanna open her main birthday gift.  She has been wanting an Elsa doll since we saw the movie around the first of the year.  They have been sold out everywhere!!  We would check Wal-mart and Target often and I'd even check online about once a week.
We had told her that she most likely wouldn't get an Elsa doll for her birthday because we just couldn't find one.  She was sad, but understood.  Then...one random day, I found one on Amazon!  They apparently had them in stock for one day and they sold out in a matter of hours!!  I just happened to get one of them!!
I was ecstatic and couldn't wait for Alanna to open it!  She pretty much reacted just how I thought she would. =)  I think it's safe to say she was happy.  Haha.

Overall, it was a great birthday...probably her best one yet!  We are so thankful for our wonderful friends here and our family (all too far away).

Opening Gifts: From the Grandparents

Opening gifts with Nana and Papa on skype.

These minions came from Guatemala and they are from Uncle Joe!

Next we opened gifts from Mamaw and Papaw Salt:

We didn't get to skype with Papaw, because he was out on the road in his truck. =(  But we did get to see Asha!  Alanna always loves to see her. =)

ALSO....we got a package in the mail from Grammy and Grandpa in Florida.  We didn't get to skype with them because their computer has been down, but it was the most beautiful dress that is pink and purple.  Alanna's favorite colors!!  She wants to wear it for her first day of Kindergarten, and I promise to post a picture. =)

Thanks SO much to all the grandparents for such fun gifts!!
