Friday Funnies:

It was right after dinner and almost bath time, when all of a sudden, Alanna exclaims she needs to potty.  I strip her all the way down to her birthday suit and sit her on the potty to do her business.  She messes around, flushes, sings and shreds toilet paper, but doesn't do any business if you know what I mean.

She gets off the potty and runs towards the back door where her daddy and mamaw are sitting on the patio.  I opened the door to chat with them when Alanna slips out there and runs around stark naked.  She thinks this is great fun, so I let her stay for a couple of minutes. (for the record, we have a privacy fence)

She tells her daddy she needs to potty and he joking tells her to just do it outside.  One second later, I tell him we are going in to get her bath started and when I turn back around I see her squatted and pooping on the patio.  This literally happened in a matter of seconds.  I wash shocked and cracking up at the same time.  I had no idea that she would actually go outside.

The three of us CRACK UP hysterically while little Alanna looks up at us with an innocent stare as to say "well, daddy told me to do it!"  I went and grabbed a camera to document the funny moment, but I will spare you all the, ahem,...gross details.

So even if you are having a rough day today, just remember that it's Friday AND it could be worse.  At least you didn't have to shovel poop from your child off your patio.

Happy Friday!!

Our New Library:

While Mamaw was visiting, we went to check out the new library in town.  This place is SOOO cool.  It's two stories tall and has a really neat little cafe in the center of it.

As soon as we entered the main part of the library, Alanna yelled out "BOOKS!" really loudly.  The lady at the counter smiled and thought she was really cute that she was so excited to see all the books.
We signed up for a library card and then made our way downstairs to the children's area.  They have all kinds of neat things for kids to do.  They have a dress up area, cubbie holes in the wall to snuggle up with a good book, and kid sized couches and chairs to lounge around in.  Alanna was so overwhelmed and just ran from one place to the next.

She would grab a random book off the shelf, look at two or three pages, name the animals, then put it on the floor and run off.
I asked if there was a limit on how many books we could get.  They said they'd stop us around 50. We stuck with 5.

We can't wait to go back and try out the story time for preschoolers.

HEY!  IT'S FREE:

I found this awesome website that tells you where and how to get free deals.  This thing is legit too.

I looked through all the birthday deals and SOOO many restaurants will send you coupons for free meals, desserts, and $$$ off on your birthday.
I signed up for 5 of them.  I am hoping I won't have to pay for one thing on my birthday! HA!

So, here it is...check it out.  Kinda neat.

A lot of them will let you sign up a spouse or child too.  WHOO!

And just for good measure...I'll leave you with a picture of my child.  She's getting so big.  I say that a lot but it's because she's literally growing up before my eyes.  It's crazy how fast time is going.
Ok...gotta stop or I could start crying.

A Special Easter Breakfast:

Eggs and bacon, grapes, and little pink sugar bunnies.  She LOVED them.
(thank you Mamaw!)
We don't like to give her much sugar and these were just the perfect treat!  They were actually for decorating cupcakes and cakes, etc.  They had the consistency of a wafer and tasted like strawberry cardboard.  HAHA!

Monkey Monday:

 Alanna's first egg hunt!
READY...SET...
GO!!!!

WOW, she got SO MANY eggs!
She was so proud of herself and her accomplishment.
Mamaw and Mommy were proud of her too.

The plan was to get the eggs home and remove the candy before she saw it and wanted it.

YEAH RIGHT!!!

She saw it and said "NANDY!!"

Awww....my cute girl is growing up and just so precious.  We had a very fun day!

HAPPY (one day late) EASTER EVERYONE!!!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, No More Binky:

We have officially been 19 days without the stinky binky!!!  YAY ALANNA!

She does get it at night to help her fall asleep, but she usually spits it out after 10 minutes of being asleep.  It will be totally gone before her second birthday!
Yuck, I can't speak of the second birthday yet.  I refuse to believe that it's this close.  I think at age two I won't be able to call her my baby anymore.  (to other people anyway.  They look at me like I'm crazy when I say I have a baby.) WHAAAAA!!!

Sorry that it's Friday and I don't have a "Friday Funnies" story.  Nothing super funny happened this week.  Well, actually she tooted on my hand and laughed but that's not worthy of a whole blog post. =)

Poppy: AKA Coffee

I may get hate mail for this but I let Alanna get the last little drop of coffee out of my Starbucks cup.
She LOVES it.

Problem is, now she asks for "poppy" whenever she sees me drinking it.  I won't be filling up her sippy cup with coffee any time soon, but I figure one small sip won't hurt, right?!?

(I'm training her early Uncle Joe!!!)

Mamaw's Coming To Town:

Cie-J's mom is called "Mamaw" and she is flying here to see us tomorrow.  We are VERY excited!
Here she is holding Alanna when she was just two weeks old.

And this one is from our time in Indiana.  Also the last time we saw her.  Alanna called the horse a dog!
Fun times.  We all can't wait to see her again.

Daddy's Special Time:

Alanna always begs her daddy to play 'tunes' on his laptop.  It's usually dinner time so he doesn't turn them on.  This one night she kept asking and asking and Cie-J finally caved in.  (after dinner)

It was just the sweetest thing...

She grabbed his hand and held it close to her the whole time the 'tunes' were playing.

Awwwwwww.

Now he wants to play her 'tunes' ever time she asks for them because he wants that special time with her.

I think that's what they call "wrapped around her little pinkie."

Monkey Monday:

Picnic on the couch.  Boy was it a mess.

Friday Funnies:

We were at the mall playing when all of a sudden, Alanna needed her diaper changed.  I avoid public restrooms at all costs, but since we were there to change a diaper, I figured I'd just go quickly too.  This was our first time in a stall together in a public bathroom.

As soon as I get the door shut, the lady in the stall next to us lets out a toot.  It is obvious that she is pooping.  Alanna looks at me and yells out "EWWW, YUCK, POO POO!!!!!"  I could have died.  I can hear snickers coming from the other women in the bathroom.

At this point, I just try to sit down and pee as fast as I can so we can leave.  Once I am positioned perfectly, Alanna decides to look under the stall next to us and to say hi to the pooping lady!!  AHH!
First of all, I'm a germaphobe...so the fact that my daughter is on her hands and knees on the mall bathroom floor is enough to make me hyperventilate.  But she is now staring at and talking to the lady she just embarrassed.

I really just wanted to sit in that stall and wait for everyone to leave before we came out, but I also wanted to get her out and wash her hands.

I don't think we'll try the mall bathroom again anytime soon.

Fun Day In The Sun: PART 2

We have two huge pecan trees in our back yard.  I do not have the patience to collect them, crack them, and eat/bake with them, so we just leave them in the yard for the squirrels. They LOVE us. (except when I let the dog out to chase them) Any time people come to visit, we let them go and pick up as many as they can carry back home.

Well, mowing season is upon us here in Texas.  The hubby and I realized that having the pecans in our yard and trying to mow over them could be dangerous.  SOOOOO......

Alanna and I have made a game of collect pecans from the yard.  SHE LOVES IT!  I'm done after about 10-15 minutes but she says "come on mommy, MORE!"

Once she is done finding pecans, she stars throwing rocks in the bucket.  I have to remind her we are only putting nuts in the bucket.  Our bucket is already a fourth of the way full...now what to do with them?!?!?!

I asked Alanna if she was having fun out side and she looked up at me and grinned and said "Fun, mommy, fun!"

 I just love her. <3 <3 <3
 Look!  It's Minnie!

Fun Day In The Sun: PART 1

We have a container garden out in our backyard.  It consists of tomatoes, bell peppers, squash, strawberries, blueberries, and onions.  So far they are doing really well!  (I'm kinda proud of them)  We even have some blueberries already growing!

It is a big part of Alanna's day when she gets to go and help me water the plants.  She waters the cement more than anything, but I'm happy to let her help.  She's too cute with that watering can.

If you look closely, those are Minnie Mouse Pajamas.  We have three pairs of Minnie PJ's because that's all she wants to wear.  EVERY night.

Of course after we are done we have to swing and slide for a little while.  Yes, in our jammies.

Then she pulls of the sides of the play mat and uses them as swords.  Or just hits the dog with them.
Either way, it's super entertaining.

 More to come tomorrow...

A New Game:

Alanna would hide in the cabinet doors like this:
We would pretend that we didn't see her and look around for her while we called out her name.  You can tell by the big smile that she thought this was so much fun and that she was really hiding.  Once we looked everywhere and still couldn't find her, she would jump out and yell "BOO!"

And then we'd find her!!
And yes, she doesn't have pants on...it's hot here in Texas!!!

Like Father, Like Daughter:

So yesterday, I come home to this...

#1 - Notice she has her own controller.

#2 - Notice how she won't take her eyes off the TV to look at me.

#3 - Notice all the toys all over the floor.
(I was feeling bad for posting these pictures with my floor such a mess, but if I say it before you notice it then it doesn't matter right?!?)

Do you think I should be worried?!?

P.S. I actually love this.  I love that Alanna wants to spend time with her daddy and I love that he lets her pretend to play.  She really pushes the buttons and thinks she's doing something.  It's super cute.
