For The Birds:
I spent most of the day with a horrible headache, so Alanna spent her morning with magazines, paper, scissors, tape, and a pencil. She said it was SO much fun! Hooray for good ideas on sick days.
My living room looked like a confetti bomb had gone off and my tape dispensers are all used up, but she also created this fun little bird page too. She cut the birds out, taped three pieces of paper together, and glued the birds to it. I was most impressed that she wrote the word "Birds" on it though! The 's' is backwards, but still excellent for 4 years old! This is one project that we will do again soon!

Olaf the Snowman:
When Alanna woke up this morning, she found a note outside her door that said "Alanna, do you want to build a snowman?"
(This is a reference from the movie Frozen)
She ran downstairs and wrote her daddy the cutest response. She drew the two of them next to a snowman and wrote both of their names. Then she scribbled and told me that it said "Daddy, I love you more than Frozen." Melt!
As soon as Cie-J walked in the door from work, Alanna ran to him to give her response. To her surprise, he had a sack with cotton balls in it. They sat down together and "built a snowman".
It was so cute!
Alanna went for the traditional snowman look, while Cie-J tried the 3D version.
(I wouldn't expect any less from him. HA!)

Friday Funnies:
(Sorry for the terrible picture quality)
Alanna and I pulled up to "Pump It Up", an indoor bouncy house place, for a St. Patrick Day party and they had these posters on the doors. One is of a girl dressed up as a queen, and the other is of a boy dressed up like an astronaut. Alanna saw them and immediately said "Mom!! When kids come here, girls can be queens and boys can be.....umm....aliens!!" HAHA. I laughed so hard!

Random Post #35465465435:
Alanna dressed up as a princess and dancing to the Frozen soundtrack with her friends.
We have this many days until Alanna's Papa, Nana, and then Mamaw come to visit. She loves to tear a link off the chain each day.
Alanna BEGGED me to take a picture of the dog smiling and post it to my blog. Seriously. So here you go blog world. You can now rest a little better tonight now that you've seen my dog smile.

PBS Station Tour:
Side note: I love my home school group!
We went to tour the local PBS TV station yesterday and we got to watch a live recording! I wasn't sure how interested Alanna would be, but she LOVED it!
Each kid got a turn being the camera person, the director, and the anchor.
Of course, Alanna rocked it!!
They also got to "answer the phones" for the telethon.
We were instructed to be super quiet during the live recording. I'm proud to say that we didn't have any problems. =) This was so neat to watch! It was "Homework Hotline" where kids call in live to ask their homework questions.
All the kids were amazed at all the TVs and shows that were playing at one time. One of the men that worked here said "When I was little, I watched a lot of TV. My parents always told me that I would never get a job watching TV and that I should find something else to do. I proved them wrong." Thanks PBS TV man. Alanna now thinks that if she watches more TV, she will get a job at PBS. HA!

Leonardo da Vinci:
The Springs Preserve has an exhibit that includes 40 life size inventions of Leonardo da Vinci. I wasn't sure how interested a 4.5 yeard old would be, but we went anyway. It was SO COOL! Alanna loved it and I wish we would have had more time to spend there.
It was so neat to see Alanna discovering and learning with these machines. And I especially loved that they were so hands on. We will be going back very soon.

Friday Funnies:
Alanna asked me if we could go back to the "McDonald's Movie Theater". I told her that there isn't one like that. She INSISTED that there was one and that we had been to it before. I racked my brain and couldn't imagine what she was thinking of. Then we pulled into the drive in theater the other night and I saw this and laughed out loud...golden arches!!

Ey, Matey:
We were invited to a little boy's pirate birthday party. They gave out bandanas to everyone as they arrived. Alanna didn't want one until she saw all the others kids wearing one. Of course she had a big bow under hers. =) She still made one of the cutest pirates I've ever seen.
Elijah's dad BUILT him this pirate ship in his back yard! It was amazing!!
Cie-J ended up giving out rides to all the kids in a wagon. He loved it and so did the kids!
P.S. This was the BEST yard I've seen in Vegas so far! I could only wish for a yard this big and nice.
