Our friend Mrs. Jaymie had some baby goats at her house, so we HAD to go and see them. They are small and cute and so sweet. They actually had a goat in labor while we were there and she had both of them while we were outside! It was so neat! Alanna immediately scooped this one up and claimed it as her own. =) She was so sweet and kept rubbing her head on Alanna's neck and would suck on her ear like she was nursing.
THEN THIS HAPPENED.....
I noticed her eye starting to swell up and then I noticed some hives on her arm.
We ended up going to church where the pastor's wife is a nurse. She took one look at Alanna and told me to take her quickly to the Quick Care Clinic. By the time we got there, her arms, neck, ears, eyes and hands had hives and her eye was almost swollen shut.
She was not really in any pain and was in a great mood. She made the doctor and all the nurses laugh and everyone thought she was the cutest thing. If you look closely, you can see her eye swollen shut behind the glasses. They immediately want to give her a steroid shot. =( Luckily, they found some oral children's liquid and we opted for that instead. =) She walked out of there with two stickers and a sucker when it was all said and done.
After a bath, some benadryl, and some itchy cream, she crashed out in bed and did just fine.
Who knew you could be allergic to goats?!?!
Wow, that is so crazy.
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought? Goats?
When my Evan just recently had his allergy testing done, I couldn't believe all of the animals they tested for besides just cats/dogs...they also did guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, and more. It was pretty wild! So glad your little one is all better!
