Christmas Eve & Christmas Day:

On Christmas Eve, our little family of three opened all of our Christmas gifts to each other.  We only got Alanna three gifts because we don't want Christmas to be all about presents.  (plus she got plenty from other family and friends!)  Also, Baby Jesus got three gifts, so if it was good enough for Him, it's good enough for us.  ;)
We decided to do one she could wear, one she could read, and one she could play with.
The one she could wear, was new Muppet Jammies.
This is her new attempt at a smile.  Lovely.

The one she could read was the "I Spy" game sitting to her left.  It's like a book, but it's also a puzzle.  She opened it SO FAST I couldn't even get a picture of it!
The one she could play with was a Minnie Mouse piggy bank.  She carries it around like a doll.

THEN.....
CHRISTMAS DAY CAME AND SO DID MAMAW!!!
Mamaw came with lots of presents. =)
Her main present was a big slide and swing in the backyard.  She LOVES it!
Teeny tiny Mickey and Minnie dolls.
Minnie jammies from Papaw Salt.
A fishing pole with magnetic fish.
A cute little personalized doll.
And a set of celtic wind chimes that I somehow didn't get a picture of, but trust me, they are beautiful and Alanna is thrilled with them.  She loves wind chimes!

And if you've made it this far down my blog post...first and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS...that was a lot to read and look at....and secondly, MY FRIDAY FUNNY is that Cie-J had his computer out on the coffee table yesterday and it had a screen saver up.  Alanna tapped the mouse and made the screen come on and she then quickly said "Oh look, daddy has some emails!!!"  This girl is not even two and a half yet!  Next thing you know, she'll be wanting her own email account.

MORE PRESENTS:

Our friend Ms. April sent Alanna some Christmas presents in the mail.  She was THRILLED!  It was a cute little puzzle book and a new outfit.
She held them up and said "NEW PANTS!"
THEN....
Alanna skyped with Nana and Papa and got to open a present from them.  A Vtech Innotab!!!!!!

It's kinda like an ipad for kids.
Needless to say, she was mesmerized!!
Funny side note....yesterday, Alanna asked if we could open some presents again.  HA!  She's gonna think she gets presents every few days now. =)

First Present of Christmas:

Ever since Alanna saw the first wrapped present under the tree, Alanna had begged us to open them.
(lesson learned for next year!)

She came and told me that daddy said she could open one, then went and told him that I said she could.  When that didn't work, she told me that Nana said she could open one.  Later that evening, before bed, she said that Jesus said she could open one.  HA!

A couple of days later, Cie-J's house shoes completely ripped apart and he couldn't wear them anymore.  He wanted to go and get some news ones which forced me to tell him that there was a new pair of them under the tree for him.  BUT...I told him if we going to get to open a present up...his daughter should get to also.
She started ripping and didn't stop until that sucker was open. When she got it open, she saw that it was a new VeggieTales Movie, and yelled out "OH MY DOSH!!!"  Cie-J and I just looked at each other wondering which one of us she had heard that from.  It was SOOOO funny.
We couldn't wait for her to open her other presents because this was just too much fun.  Seeing the magic of Christmas through a little kids eyes just brought back all the magic to us too.  I have tons of pictures of her opening gifts...so bear with me for the next day or two because I want to put a few of them on here.

San Antonio Children's Museum:

A couple of weeks ago, I had to take my car back to San Antonio for repairs.  Alanna and I made a fun day of it by going to the children's museum.  It was a total blast!!!  She had so much fun.  They have three different levels and each one is totally different.

This was a bearded dragon that we saw there.  I told Alanna that Daddy used to have a bearded lizard and she just couldn't understand it.  She thought it was gross and ugly and not fun at all. (HA!  Just like her mommy)  She wasn't impressed.  I had to beg her to let me take a picture for us to send to daddy.
On the third level they had this really neat airplane.  This was one of Alanna's favorite things!!  She went right to the captain's seat and thought she was the boss!  She would turn around and yell "are you ready boys?!?"  It cracked me up.  I have no idea where she's heard that from!
This was a neat little sand box that had things buried in it.  They had paint brushes there that you could use to dig.  Or excavate I guess.  She found bones, old pieces of metal and a cup.  This was really fun but it was a challenge to keep the sand IN the box.
Down in the basement they had a whole little HEB grocery store set up.  It was the coolest thing!!  Everything was kid sized.  Alanna LOVED to go shopping and bought a ton of stuff.  Then they had a check out that beeped and she got to check out her own groceries.  We then brought it back to this little table and pretended to eat it all.  She thought the laundry detergent bottle was juice and the big round bread was a birthday cake.  I was so proud of her for buying so many fruits and vegetables!!

All in all, the children's museum was a blast and we can't wait to go back!  If you are ever in San Antonio, you HAVE to try it out!

Friday Funnies:

This child of mine just about made me pull out all my hair yesterday.  I was in my bedroom getting ready for the day while she was watching a Disney show.  I came out of my room to find her with poop smeared on her shirt, pants, hands (up to her elbows), the mirror and the carpet.  I had told her earlier that morning that if she went pee pee on the potty all day without any accidents, that we could go and see Christmas lights at night.

I think in her little two year old brain, she thought "uh oh, I pooped in my pull up and if my mom finds it, I won't get to see the Christmas lights tonight."  The only problem with her plan was what to do with the poop once it was out of her pull up!

I walked out of my room and she immediately said "Mommy, there's no poo poo in my pull up!"  Then I saw it.  Everywhere.  But she was technically right, there was no poop in her pull up.

P.S. I just found this blog and THIS recipe and OH. MY. WORD. it sounds fantastic.  Why didn't I think of spaghetti IN the garlic bread?!?  I may need to attend "Carbs Addicts Anonymous."

P.P.S.  Only a mom of a toddler can have a story about poop AND a yummy recipe in one blog post!!  HA!

The Boss Lady:

Alanna likes to be the boss.

Any time she can, she takes advantage of the opportunity and tells mommy and daddy what to do. Here, she is telling Cie-J how to load the dishwasher.  She literally has a spoon and is saying "put that here daddy!"  So funny, but she KNOWS it's just pretend.  If you ask her who the boss is in our house she'll say "daddy the boss."

But then she's very quick to add "But Alanna's the boss of Asha!"  HAHA!

Alanna's First Pony Ride:

We went to our friend Wyatt's birthday party. We had a blast.  It was a cowboys and indians party, so Alanna got to dress up like a little cowgirl again.  She LOVES her boots and loves to wear them.
Here she is waiting in line for her turn to ride the pony.  To be honest, I didn't really think she'd go through with it.  I thought she was too little and wouldn't like it and would need me to walk with her.  BOY OH BOY WAS I WRONG!!!
Look at that ear to ear grin!
She hopped right up on that horse (with a little help), put her feet in the stirrups, and sat up as tall as she could.  I guess I should say pony and not horse though.  It was pretty small, but Alanna still looked so tiny on it!
Off they went, all by herself!
 Coming back around.

I was so proud of her and a little sad at the same time.  My baby is growing up and doesn't need me so much anymore.

She of course, came straight home and said "Daddy, I rode a donkey!!"  HAHA!

Jingle Bells:

Alanna had her first little Christmas program and it was just the cutest thing!  Her leader, Ms. Jaymie told them all to hold their jingle bells really still and wait to start their song.  You can see in the picture above that she was trying so hard to stay quiet.
Finally it was time to sing!  "Jingle Bells" was her favorite song.
Here she is "laughing all the way" while holding her tummy.
"In a one horse open sleigh - HEY!"

She did such a great job.  Some of the little ones around her didn't care one thing about singing, but Miss Alanna was loud and proud with hers!
Once they were done, the kids got to sit down and hear Ms. Kim read the Christmas story.  But all Alanna wanted to do was ring her bells!!!

Monkey Monday:

I'M BACK!!!! Yay!!

We just made Alanna's bed into a PRINCESS bed.
She is thrilled and loves it!
