San Angelo Nature Center:
For our small town, we have a neat little nature center here that is kinda on a smaller scale, like a zoo. The best part about it, is that they will get most of the animals out for us to pet! Alanna had been talking about touching a snake for almost two weeks. I have NO CLUE where she got this idea from! We took her about a week ago and when they got the snake out for her, she froze and slowly backed away. On the car ride home, she told us she would touch it next time. Sure enough, the second time (about a week later) she did it!! She didn't act scared at all!
She loved it when the rattle snake shook his tail at her. She said he was being silly to her. I had to tell her over and over that it was mad at her and wanted to bite her. I still don't think she believed me. I am hoping we never run in to one since we live in Texas!
We got to touch a prairie dog, a ferret, a bearded dragon, and a turtle. When the lady took the ferret back to it's cage, Alanna yelled "HEY, bring that kitty cat back!!" It was funny. She was also very sad that she couldn't pet any of the fish. Silly girl.
Alanna was so brave and pretty much wanted to touch everything she could. She yelled to the fox that he was "a cute little guy" and said that the porcupine was beautiful. I bet that was the first time it was ever called that! HA! There were lots of stuffed animals all over too. She thought this cat was really neat. She just couldn't understand why they were all 'stuck' there. =)
Lastly, we saw some pretty huge python snakes that made me almost pee my pants. This one was curled up like a big pile of poo. I made Cie-J put his hand by the glass so you could see just how big it is!!!
YUCK! YUCK! YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!
